Job Title: Diesel Mechanic Company: Location: Colorado Springs, CO Description: I have a 1995 Rammax trench compactor. It has a single cylinder diesel motor. (Farymann 43E). The problem with it is that it is very hard to start. Once it is started it runs great. I would like to find someone who is familiar with this type of machine and that can fix it in my garage since it is very heavy and hard to move. Supervises all aspects of transportation including Personal Property, Rail Operations, Unit Moves, Personnel Movements and Movement of Material. Manages applicable DOD transportation programs. Focal point for mobilization operations (F, develops work methods and determines procedures for personal property, personnel, unit, material movements and equipment preparation, packaging and processing of cargo for shipment during mobilization and contingency moves and EDRE exercises. Directs the flow of work; observes performance and resolves difficulties pertaining to inadequate response to movement requirements and transportation requests. 5. Exercises management control over transportation and movement documents, in-transit data documents and movement reports. 6. Maintains liaison with commercial carriers serving the activity. 7. Exercises control over loading, unloading and prompt release of equipment to avoid demurrage or detention charges. 8. Projects requirements for specialize training, courses and schedules attendance. 9. Inspects military and commercial packaging, crating, marking, warehousing, pickup and delivery of cargo and personal property. 10. Evaluates performance. 11. Determines most efficient and economical means of transporting personal property and material. 12. Resolves technical problems pertaining to conversion of commercial bills of lading, diversion and re-consignment, consolidating, freight classifications, application of carrier tariffs and demurrage and switching agreements. 13. Assures conformity with packing, crating, marking and storage provisions, weight limitations and carrier tariff requirements. 14. Advises on matters pertaining to movement of traffic including outsize and hazardous cargo. 15. Recommends improvements to overall operations and cost reductions. 16. Schedules vehicles, buses, vans and mini shuttle and coordinates troop movements. 17. Responsible for the vehicle organizational Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) of assigned GSA and ensures that vehicles and equipment are repaired/maintained on a timely bases. 20. Develop/Create/Monitor and implement Contingency Plan for the program and 'Operate' transportation 'Nodes' A/DACG, Kocsher Field (Milvan Container Yard), Movement Control Center (MCC), Corps Consolidated Loading Control Center (CLACC), and Port Support Activity (PSA). 21. Activation of Contingency Plan ensures back fill of reserve components to help operate all transportation. MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: Computers, Microsoft software products, and equipment unique to the department. WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance. Experience Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associates Degree in Business/Transportation Management desirable. Formal military training and course work in Transportation Management (or civilian equivalent) mandatory. Experience: A minimum of three years general experience in administrative, professional, analytical or other work related to traffic or transportation programs or operations. Five years specialized experience in the following: management of Department of Defense transportation programs, planning, directing, coordinating and controlling traffic operations to provide economical and efficient transportation of freight.
