Job Description:GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION Develop transportation partnerships that will support BNSF Logistics' future growth and allow for the optimization of the BNSF Logistics transportation network including the recruitment of new carriers to secure equipment for available loads within your assigned zone. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Secure equipment for all available loads that have been assigned to their zone. This duty is performed daily. 2. Ensure that the system is updated with the most accurate information on our carrier base. This duty is performed daily. 3. Negotiate with carriers to maximize profitability of loads consigned to your zone. This duty is performed daily. 4. Solicit owner-operators that will be dedicated for utilization by BNSF Logistics. This duty is performed weekly. 5. Communicate existing or potential service problems to the applicable account manager or supervisor. This duty is performed daily. 6. Recruit new carriers to fill in available opportunities for increased profitability, service, etc. This duty is performed irregularly. 7. Improve efficiency by utilizing fewer carriers through relationship building. This duty is performed daily. 8. Monitor service providers to ensure that company and customer service requirements are being met. This duty is performed daily. 9. Develop and grow core/key carriers to provide additional capacity and provide proper utilization of the carriers equipment. This duty is performed irregularly. 10.
