Job Title: Transportation Supervisor Company: Location: Minneapolis, MN Description: Transportation (Route) Supervisor Date: 03/04/2010 Reports To: Division Manager Position Description: The Transportation (Route) Supervisor (TS) is responsible for planning, supervising and executing the daily empting of collection boxes. This involves daily organization of routes, assignment of duties and scheduled box visits and oversight of contract-drivers work schedules. The TS ensures the designated empting interval which can ranges from daily to bi-weekly (E2W) for our collection boxes is met by the contract-drivers. The TS is vital to ensure all contract-drivers work productively and proficiently while working safely, always striving for constant improvement. The TS shall possess strong communication skills, be a self starter and team player that will contribute his/her fair share to U?SAgain?s winning work environment. Job Responsibilities: - Supervising the daily emptying of drop boxes of the Minneapolis operation - Maximize and optimize tonnage of clothes collected from our collection boxes - Timely service of all boxes, from once a day to E2W intervals - Provide unsurpassed service to our site hosts. - Being available 24/7 to supervise and give direction for an overflow situation - Maximize profitability of routes and boxes placed on routes - Optimize route-running for maximum profit potential - Focal point of communication to contractor-drivers - Manage placing, swapping and relocation of boxes - Focal person for hiring, training, evaluating, and upgrading of drivers and contract- drivers - Safety leader for contractor- driver work force - Analyze data Scope of work - As needed face to face and or over phone instructional, and informational communications to contractor-drivers - Weekly formal face to face meeting to review weekly results with i.e., contractor-drivers, management team members and DM - Daily monitoring of each contractor - driver - Daily review with drivers of completed route after off-loading - Primary respondent to service issues and overflows - Secondary daily data entry and data base maintainer behind Office Admin - Performs at least 1 RTM with a driver or contractor per week - Secondary for receiving driver offloads when Warehouse Lead is not available at the warehouse and check clothing as it is off-loaded - Weekly evaluation of each drivers work to driver and to management - Weekly calculation and posting of box empting % - Weekly KPI report preparation and bulletin board postings (shared responsibility with Office Admin person) - Analysis of data to optimize collection areas and routing Experience, Education and Background required - High School Graduate - 2 year degree desired - 4 Year degree a plus - 3 + years in supervisor position - 5 years experience with routing, dynamic daily-routing, logistics and route-driving - Detail oriented individual - Workaholic - Bilingual Spanish speaking capabilities a plus - Excellent computer skills a must (including extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications) Compensation Package; Salary dependent of experience $35,000 - $38,000 plus bonuses Company benefits Affirmative Action Policy Statement U'SAgain, LLC will not discriminate against or harass any employee or applicant for employment on the basis of race, creed, religion, sex, national origin or ancestry, familial status, age, disability, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, or orientation.
