Description:
A successful candidate will be responsible for planning transportation for finished goods, packaging, transfers, DC replenishment and raw materials to and from appropriate DC's. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: -Plan, tender and monitor (tracing & tracking) shipments to carriers internal Transportation Management and Inventory systems according to department policy/procedure -Initiate and maintain transfer/replenishment activity from all warehouses/entities -Monitor daily dock appointments to ensure compliance with warehouse work schedules -Coordinate and provide shipment information for Customer Service, Sales, Production Planners, Schedulers and Warehouse -Schedule customer pick up (Will Calls) and delivery appointments -Fill out driver?s dispatch sheet and envelopes, add any special instructions, distribute dispatch sheets to appropriate shipping warehouse, notify the company drivers of their destination and where their trailer is loading out of -Cross train on other areas to help cover desks as assigned by Supervisor Must continuously follow all safety policies and procedures on the job. -For safety and business purposes, must have communication skills including reading, writing and must be able to communicate to others as well as be able to receive communication from others. Job Requirements: -High School diploma or equivalent -Intermediate computer skills including MS Office. Transportation software management experience preferred. -Excellent phone and customer service skills. -Superior verbal and written communication skills. -Ability to multi-task and problem solve. -Experience successfully working to tight deadlines. -Must be able to perform duties under a fast-paced, sometimes stressful, dynamic environment. $13.50/hour to start
