Become familiar with proper loading and compatibility of hazardous material according to military regulations. * Uses material handling equipment for cargo loading and unloading operations. * Ensures all cargo documentation, packaging, labeling and marking requirements have been met. * Selects, assembles, palletizes, and transports aircraft cargo loads to and from aircraft and storage areas. * Checks cargo against manifest, and annotates overage, shortage, or damage. * Secures cargo with appropriate devices and equipment adhering to current USAF regulations. * Exercises necessary safety and security precautions in handling and storing hazardous or special cargoes and mail. Expedites cargo movement as necessary. * Diligently conducts quality assurance practices throughout the cargo movement and pallet building process; reporting all incurred damage to cargo and equipment immediately to shift supervisor for further documentation. * Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace. Conducts daily safety meetings and provides attendance and subject documentation * Uses Transportation Control Numbers (TCN) and barcode data tracking. * Maintains and performs required preventative maintenance and inventory of Tie-Down Equipment. * Identifies, prepares and labels damaged aircraft pallets and tie-down equipment for shipment to CONUS or Christchurch, New Zealand. * Must be willing to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions during a 12-hour shift. * Must be willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts including weekends and extra hours as required.
