Transportation Specialist (Driver) Function: The Transportation Specialist is responsible for the transportation needs of the agency to include but not limited to: transportation to and from medical, dental, work and excursions. The Transportation Specialist is responsible for the supervision of clients while on transport. Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age with Valid Colorado Drivers License, good driving record and ability to work with disturbed children. Must have clean (including no points) Motor Vehicle Record. Driving record will be checked before hire and checked at least monthly thereafter. Supervision: Direct supervision by the TL Director. Resource advisement by Directors Responsibilities: 1. Transporting all clients to and from medical, dental, work, field trips and excursions, etc. as deemed necessary. 2. Maintain the direct supervision of clients while on transport. 3. Obey all Motor Vehicle laws. 4. Complete pick ups or deliveries as necessary. 5. Completion of all paperwork in a timely fashion. 6. Recognize problems and actively contribute to their resolution. 7. Demonstrate a concern for students' health and safety. 8. Maintain client confidentiality. 9. Enhance communication with clear, objective verbal/written feedback and documentation. 10. Make sure that your shift is covered if taking extended time off. 11. Call supervisor at home if you will be taking a personal day to facilitate prompt coordination of scheduled appointments. 12. Dress appropriately for the situation or activity. Vehicle Maintenance: 1. Supervise and facilitate client care of the vehicles upon completion of transports. 2. Request via requisitions any resources necessary to fulfill this. 3. Service vehicles as needed: (i.e., oil changes) 4. Report immediately any problems with the vehicle to prevent major breakdowns. 5. Make sure that all vehicles have necessary equipment in case of breakdown or other problems. (complete first aid kits, tire irons and jacks, jumper cables, etc) 6. Perform daily safety checks on vehicles. Medical 1. Complete Medication Certification Training. 2. Distribute client medication as prescribed and complete documentation for transports. 3. Submit all copies of all medical paperwork to the nurse, therapist and lodge boxes in the mail room. Originals are put in the receptionist box for filing in the clients chart. 4. Provide First Aid as needed. General 1. Accept and fulfill assigned responsibilities and duties in a prompt and efficient manner. 2. Follow the Griffith Centers for Children policies, procedures and any other rules, regulations, or procedures that may be established by the administration. 3. Other duties as deemed necessary by your supervisor or Administration. 4.
