Overall Responsibilities: This Site Transportation Manager position located at the Lennox Regional Distribution Center in McDonough, GA is responsible to execute the centralized transportation plan, within the RDC network, by arranging and scheduling the transportation of products from the RDC to warehouses, storefronts and customers optimizing service and cost metrics. Primary performance metrics for this role are freight cost/lb., schedule adherence, on-time delivery and freight claim recovery. Other essential duties include, but are not limited to: Develops all carrier arrangements to transport finished goods, parts and supplies from the RDC utilizing common carriers, dedicated fleet and courier services. Involves coordination with Carriers, Customers, Sales, Inventory Planning, and Distribution. Monitors, analyzes and identifies transportation modes or methods that maximize asset utilization. Expedites transportation solutions by trouble-shooting immediately when problems arise. Utilize TMS to execute the RDC plan plus for reporting and analysis.
