Purpose of the roleThis individual will be responsible for securing truck and intermodal transportation for Inbound & Outbound shipments in plants. This individual will work with the Transportation Management System (TMS). This role is an integral link between the plant operations and corporate logistics functions as well as day to day communications with the carrier base.Core Accountabilities? Dispatching inbound and outbound shipments? Monitor Best Transport TMS load activity? Maintain good communication with Freight Carriers, Plant Shipping Personnel, and Inside Sales? Utilize combination of TMS and Electronic Rate database to ensure cost effective outcomes ? Ensure excellent level of customer service? Work with Freight Category Managers to ensure adequate carrier base for load coverage?
