Job Title: Dispatcher - Local Trucking Service Company: Location: Kansas City, KS Description: Spin Freight is a local trucking company serving freight forwarders, brokers, and area shippers. We operate a small fleet of straight trucks and cargo vans around the KC metro area, and the surrounding region. The bulk of our freight goes to/from the airport, and we utilize our fleet to transport a variety of different kinds of freight. We're seeking an individual that can take the lead in our fast paced environment, with the primary job function being the dispatch and management of our trucks. The successful candidate will have the following: 1) experience dispatching freight in a city dispatch environment 2) experience as a commercial driver in the KC area 3) solid knowledge of Kansas City geography 4) ability to work in a very fast paced environment, able to think on your feet, and able to react to changes 5) customer service experience, via phone, email, and fax 6) aptitude to understand rates and pricing 7) solid computer entry skills, and ability to get around the internet and a computer with ease 8) ability to relate to drivers and communicate effectively with them via radio, phone, and in person 9) willingness to occasionally be on call after hours/weekends We're willing to train the right individual that has the mix of qualities needed to succeed in this very demanding position.
