Job Title: Diesel Mechanic Company: Location: Boston, MA Description: BASIC FUNCTION Under the general direction of the Fleet Manager, perform activities necessary in the maintenance and repair of Company tools equipment, and vehicles PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Maintain and repair Company vehicles, tools, and equipment as needed to limit out-of-service durations 2. Make assessments of repairs needed to keep vehicles and equipment in service 3. Use Company software to record, retrieve, analyze, and maintain data in connection with the Company's vehicles, tools, and equipment SKILL REQUIREMENTS 1. Five years of experience in the repair of a broad range of diesel vehicles and heavy equipment including experience using electronic diagnostic equipment 2. Experience working with CAT diesel engines 3. Experience working with International Trucks 4. Knowledge of principles, standard practices, and techniques for servicing, maintaining, and repairing diesel vehicles and equipment, trucks, and tractors 5. Knowledge of materials, parts, supplies, equipment, and tools used in the maintenance and repair of gasoline, diesel, propane, and electric vehicles and equipment 6. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with other mechanics and field crew operators 7. Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with colleagues, subordinates, field crews, vendors, and other agencies as needed 8. Possession of a valid Massachusetts Driver?s License
