Company Description: Roofing and Insulation Supply, (RIS) is a wholesale distributor of roofing, insulation and related products servicing contractors and building material dealers with locations in the Midwest, Southeast, Southwest, and the Northeast.
Overview of Job: The candidate reports to the Operations Supervisor and must have a history of safe vehicle operation and a current Class A License, as the primary function of the position is to deliver and unload products for customers. Deliveries do not require any overnights. The candidate will begin the assignment as a driver, but will be exposed to and expected to learn all functions of the Operations Supervisor position as he/she will also function as a backup for that position. The ability to work within a team environment is of the utmost importance in this assignment.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Deliver products to our customers consistently on time, most deliveries are early AM.
Load and unload trailers and box truck with insulation materials. Willingness to hand unload at job sites or customer warehouses.
Safe fork truck/clamp truck operation: Forklift certification a plus, but training will also be provided
Continuous safe driving record throughout employment.
Maintain accurate drivers log
Assure vehicles are properly cleaned, maintained, and are safe to operate
Complete vehicle inspections per company policy
Backup Operations Supervisor duties may include:
Open the branch at 7:30 AM and close at 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.
Inside Sales: Proactively contact customers to advise them on i.e: promotions, deliveries, specials
Completion of tasks using RIS computer system
Answer incoming phone calls, handle customer orders over the phone and via fax. Handle all incoming transmissions varying from faxed invoices to customer requests
Provide customers accurate information as requested i.e. delivery time, pricing, or quantities of material.
Maintain daily forklift inspection checklist.
Dispatch and logistics; manage the delivery schedule to meet customer needs.
Ensure warehouse/business supply inventories are current and sufficient.
Product inventory control: cycle counts, ordering of needed material, etc…
Unload incoming inventory and receive the inventory.
Assure all accounts payable and accounts receivable are current
Run end of day reports and file these reports.
Some light janitorial responsibilities, ex: maintaining the cleanliness of the office/warehouse.
